The Freshwater Monitor is a knowledge institution, dedicated to the provision of education and capacity building in the water sector. We aim to contribute to a community of practice in evidence-based policy making by producing educational materials and by providing tailor made training on all aspects of monitoring and decision support tools. The educational materials and publications are produced in accordance with exacting scientific standards and result in peer reviewed products, whether these are for use in university education or for hands on training in government departments and for organisations in civil society.
As an organisation we make an effort to invest in knowledge development, keeping up to date with developments in the sector. The Freshwater Monitor produces summaries of current trends in the water sector through social media and online publications, interacting with our colleagues in the sector to feed the debates in the sector with informed analyses. We also produce regular in-depth reports on case studies, analysing in detail how a particular present day challenge is being dealt with and extracting lessons learned which in our should be shared to further develop the community of practice in the sector.
